Tour De Llama for Samaritan Ministries
Last Saturday Cindy Johnson and I (Dee McGee) had the opportunity to participate in the first ever Tour De Llama bike ride. The ride was held at the Devine Llama Vineyards in East Bend to support Samaritan Ministries. Samaritan Ministries is the only Soup Kitchen in Winston-Salem. It has provided 164,776 meals. The Samaritan Inn, a 69 bed homeless shelter for men, has provided 21,763 nights stay for 631 different homeless men.
Cindy and I signed up to do the 30 mile route but after taking a wrong turn we ended up with 42 miles. (No, we didn’t do any wine drinking before the ride!) Oh well, at least we got to see the scenic route that others missed. We hope Samaritan Ministries continues to do this fundraiser in the future.
