Union Cross Moravian Church About

Union Cross Moravian Church’s history dates back over 130 years when a small contingent of Moravians sought to develop their own community church in the area where Union Cross Road and High Point Road intersect within the city limits of Winston Salem and Kernersville.

Today, this community continues to be guided by an unwavering commitment to faith, fellowship, and service. Union Cross Moravian seeks to cultivate a welcoming, spiritually nurturing environment where individuals of all backgrounds can find their faith journey enriched.

Rooted in the Moravian tradition, the congregation of Union Cross Moravian Church works to:

  • Strengthen relationships with God through meaningful worship and the Christian Education provided by our Sunday School classes.
  • Build fellowship by fostering a loving and inclusive community where members can connect, support, and uplift one another.
  • Serve others with compassion and kindness within our congregation, community, and the world by actively engaging in outreach, missions, and charitable efforts.
  • Honor our Moravian heritage while embracing innovation and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of our congregation and community.
  • Inspire hope, unity, and positive change through our actions and faith.
The Union Church area got it’s name in 1860 when Union soldiers set up camp near a crossroads in the area of the present day church, raised the flag, and named the area of Union Cross.
