News from the Widow’s Society
At its annual meeting on Thursday, October 24, 2013, the members voted an increase in the amount the eligible widows will receive in 2014. The amount is now to be $550.00 per year.
This payout is available from the dividends paid from the portfolio managed by the Moravian Ministries Foundation. The portfolio presently is valued at $933,500.00. We realize that $550.00 per year does not seem like a lot of money, but when you are a widow surviving on a fixed income, that amount can really help. AND, we have never had a lady send it back saying…”I don’t need it.”
All eligible Moravian men are encouraged to join the Widow’s Society. Married men may join before they reach the age of 61.
